First Steps in Consulting (ENG)
Welcome to "First Steps in Consulting," a comprehensive workshop track designed to equip students with essential consulting skills. Over four sessions, the participants will learn how to effectively scope problems, develop practical solutions, and communicate their recommendations with confidence. Each workshop is structured to provide hands-on experience, interactive discussions, and practical tools that are crucial for any aspiring consultant. By the end of this track, students will have the foundational skills to tackle real-world consulting challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
Workshops:
Problem Scoping
The first workshop teaches students how to define and structure a consulting problem effectively. This session covers techniques for understanding client needs, identifying key issues, and framing problems in a way that sets the stage for effective problem-solving. Participants will engage in exercises that teach them to ask the right questions and gather critical information. By the end of this workshop, students will have a clear framework for scoping problems that can be applied to various consulting scenarios.

Problem Solving
In the second workshop students will focus on developing strategies to address the problems identified in the scoping phase. Through case studies and interactive activities, participants will practice breaking down complex issues into manageable parts and generate viable solutions. Communicate your solution
The third workshop teaches students how to present their findings and recommendations effectively. The session covers the essentials of crafting persuasive presentations, writing clear and impactful reports, and delivering messages with confidence. Participants will practice storytelling techniques that make their solutions compelling and accessible to clients. By the end of this workshop, students will be equipped with the skills to communicate their ideas clearly and persuasively, ensuring their solutions are well-received.

Final Case
The final workshop provides an opportunity for students to apply all the skills they have learned in a real-world scenario. Participants will work in teams to tackle a comprehensive consulting case from start to finish, incorporating problem scoping, problem solving, and communication strategies. This capstone session allows students to demonstrate their consulting abilities, receive feedback from peers and instructors, and refine their approach. Completing the final case will give students a sense of accomplishment and readiness to face consulting challenges in their careers.
